Brightlabs was founded in 2015 with a clear conviction: a laboratory should think along with its clients, not just process samples. From the start, the focus has been on complex, non-standard analytical work—analytical challenges that require genuine scientific insight rather than just an instrument and a protocol.
Since 2016, Brightlabs has been based in Villa Flora at the Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, a unique environment where research, entrepreneurship, education, and government converge. Bart has over 15 years of experience in operational management within pharmaceutical analytical chemistry. He combines a background at Alcami in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in analytical chemistry and business administration. He is passionate about health, whole foods, and building a distinctive laboratory where scientific expertise, quality, and customer focus come together.
Sander Kok
COO — Chief Operating Officer
Sander Kok brings over 25 years of experience in analytical chemistry, gained within the pharmaceutical industry, food science, and polymer analysis. He earned his PhD from the University of Amsterdam and held leadership positions at companies including Organon, DSM Resolve, and Ardena. Sander joined Brightlabs in August 2025 as Director of Analytical Sciences, a role from which he transitioned to

Opium exemption — Office of Medicinal Cannabis
Since 2018, Brightlabs has held an opium exemption from the Office of Medicinal Cannabis (BMC) — one of the few laboratories in the Netherlands authorized to perform pharmaceutical-grade cannabis analysis.
